Elderly Dilemma.
As sad as it may sound, older adults are sometimes targeted for financial scams. In my personal experience, I can recall at least 1 attempted scam; dealing with a seemingly valid check for an Avon order, several years ago. Currently, the endless number of phone calls from alleged “Medicare Representatives” gives rise to extreme concerns. The motivation appears to gear toward gathering personal information, on age, income, health issues, etc. Most recently, phone calls from sweepstakes houses, alleging winnings of different amounts have repeated at least four times. Each incident has resulted in disturbing this practice somewhat, with detection of not so slight deceit. As Christians, we recognize miraculous happenings, sourcing from a place of utmost ethical conduct. At times, when any sorts of derangement, surface, it becomes a matter of instincts to forego an opportunity that may have potentially disturbed our way of life. Recognition of miracles from the divine, is a matter of alignment with the spoken word. By the same standards, Joy can be experienced through legitimate organizations desiring to upgrade our lives, and allow us to smile again.
