It seems comforting to grasp the notion of “Free Speech”, in this country. At times, some ought to refer to biblical scripture that teaches us to respect leaders, (Romans 13), even if the interpretations somewhat vary. The constant maligning of anyone in power, forthrightly signifies disagreements to the privilege of holding a certain position. I suppose negative feedback can actually have a reversed theme of construct, and begins to represent constructive criticism, which at large can easily be supported. I strongly believe that anyone who feels courageous enough to step up in a position of leadership, ought to be commended. By universal law, human perfection does not exist – as such, the positive attributes of a leader ought to be amplified. It is not wrong to object to certain aspects of certain principles presented. It is vilifying to object to voters’ choices for leadership in any capacity, as such is the American way. Maryse Augustin.
